The next Battlefield game is coming, and it’s officially titled Battlefield 6. Electronic Arts made the announcement on social media, featuring a short video teaser for the reveal trailer that’s dropping on Thursday, July 24.
No information regarding the game’s setting, era, or story was revealed. Currently, the only clue we have is the image used in this morning’s teaser announcement. In it, soldiers with no identifiable flags on their uniforms overlook what appears to be a war-ravaged New York City.
We’ll have to wait and see if the reveal trailer confirms the setting and offers Battlefield fans a release window for the next mainline game in this storied FPS franchise. The last Battlefield game was Battlefield 2042, which was released back in 2021. It’ll be interesting to see how Battlefield 6 raises the bar and motivates modern audiences to, once again, hit the digital battlefield.
