Announced as Project Defiant during a State of Play broadcast last June, the first-ever fight stick developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment finally has its official name: FlexStrike.
The stick, set to launch in 2026, will be showcased at the Fight Stick Museum and Arc System Works booth at the Evolution Championship Series (Evo) this weekend in Las Vegas. It’s no coincidence that this year’s Evo will also offer players the first opportunity to play MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Being developed for PlayStation 5 and PC, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a new fighting game–also announced last month–with fast-paced, four-versus-four combat featuring MARVEL’s stable of iconic heroes and villains.
The official name drop came with a new FlexStrike Features Trailer in which MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls was also heavily featured. Expect to see a lot of conjoined marketing for the two as both are expected to launch for Sony next year.
