Tsunami warnings delay Elden Ring Nightreign’s Duo Expeditions Patch

After an 8.8 magnitude struck near the eastern coast of Russia yesterday, several islands and coastal nations have been put on high tsunami alert. Japan is one of those island nations currently issuing tsunami evacuation warnings to its citizens, and Elden Ring Nightreign’s Patch 1.02 has understandably been postponed as a result.

The development team made the announcement on X (formerly Twitter).

“Due to the tsunami warning following the earthquake near the Kamchatka Peninsula, we have decided to postpone the distribution of the 'ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN' Patch 1.02, which was scheduled for today to tomorrow, July 31 (Thursday) after 10:00CEST | 1:00 PDT.”

In addition to various quality-of-life improvements, Patch 1.02 is expected to deliver Duo Expeditions, giving Nightfarers the ability to adventure through the lands of Limveld with a friend. They released a short trailer announcing the co-op mode’s imminent arrival just five days ago.

At the time of writing, FromSoftware has not announced a new release date for Patch 1.02. But, as concerned world citizens who just happen to be fans of the game, we should all support the development team’s prioritizing of safety.
