Konami is partnering once again with Bloober Team to give the original Silent Hill the remake treatment. The game is currently in development according to the announcement made during today’s Konami Press Start Broadcast.
The game announcement itself was extremely simple, including nothing but Silent Hill’s eerie theme music, followed by a text screen revealing the game’s development along with the Konami and Bloober Team logos.
Bloober Team is the studio behind last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake, so their involvement in the original’s remaking shouldn’t be too surprising. However, information on how far into development the game is and a release window for Silent Hill were withheld.
If we had to guess, we won’t be hearing much else about the Silent Hill remake until after the September 25 launch of Silent Hill f. While the Silent Hill series is renowned for successfully marrying components of Western and Japanese horror, Silent Hill f will be the series’ first attempt at a fully Japanese take on the horror genre.
