On the first anniversary of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Ninja Theory has announced that the Xbox- and PC-exclusive title is headed to PlayStation 5 this summer.
Not only is the game being optimized for the PS5, but this “enhanced” version of Hellblade 2 will also include all-new features. Ninja Theory didn’t disclose what these new features are or how they’ll impact gameplay, but they assured Xbox and PC players that they’ll also get to partake in these enhancements via a free update.
While this move is just another example of Xbox’s multiplatform strategy in action, Ninja Theory is quick to remind fans of their history with Xbox’s console counterpart in a blog post.
“At Ninja Theory we have a rich heritage of releasing games on PlayStation, starting with Heavenly Sword back in 2007. If you’re familiar with our history, you’ll know that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was originally released on PlayStation 4 back in 2017. Developed by a small, passionate team, it resonated with so many of you, the players.”
An official release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was not provided, but with summer just a month away, Sony PlayStation 5 players won’t have to wait long.
