Confirmed via an investor report released on May 16, Shift Up has plans to release a sequel to their 2024 surprise hit, Stellar Blade. There’s no official launch date, but the untitled sequel is planned for release before 2027 based on the Korean development team’s strategic timeline.
Stellar Blade looks to be a key part of Shift Up’s future strategy to “develop games that receive long-term love and support,” according to the investor presentation. Confirmation of the sequel appears on slide 19 where it lays out Shift Up’s expansion and increased visibility strategy between Stellar Blade’s 2024 console release and 2027.
The presentation also distinguishes Shift Up’s upcoming cross-platform title as a critical piece of their two-year blueprint. Codenamed “Project Witches,” the brand-new action, sci-fi RPG is slated to release after the Stellar Blade sequel in the year 2027.
Stellar Blade launched exclusively on the PlayStation 5 on April 26, 2024, and is headed to PC for the first time on June 11. The game was a hit among both critics and general gaming audiences last year, with a 9.2 user score on Metacritic. It also made its mark on the 2024 Game Awards with nominations for Best Action Game and Best Score and Music.
